Frequently Asked Questions

Jin’s clinical focus areas are women’s health, chronic pain, internal medicine, and skin conditions. If your concern isn’t listed, get in touch, there’s a good chance it’s something he can work with.
-
Most people are surprised by how little they feel. The needles are very fine, nothing like an injection. Some points produce a dull pressure or warmth, which is normal and settles quickly. Most patients relax or fall asleep during treatment.
-
It depends on the condition and how long it’s been present. Jin sets out a clear plan before treatment starts, including how often you’ll need to come in and when that’s likely to change. A typical pattern starts more frequently to build momentum, then tapers as things settle. You won’t be kept guessing.

Many private health funds cover acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine under extras. Check directly with your provider, as rebate amounts vary by fund and policy level.

Jin is registered with AHPRA and holds a Bachelor of Chinese Medicine from Torrens University. All acupuncture needles are single-use and sterile. Chinese herbal formulas are prescribed individually based on your presentation, not off-the-shelf. If you’re taking other medications, let Jin know before your first appointment so he can account for this in your treatment plan.

Have a light meal beforehand, not too full, not on an empty stomach. Wear or bring loose, comfortable clothing so Jin can access the areas he needs to treat. Arrive with a list of any current medications or supplements you’re taking. The first session includes a detailed intake, so set aside around 90 minutes.
